m:Lab East Africa – 4th Call for applications for new trainees

 

The fourth wave of m:Lab East Africa trainees will join the program beginning September 3rd 2012 for a four month program which runs upto December 31st 2012. The program aims to create mobile entrepreneurs through intense training on mobile technologies and business skills.

This program is a full time course where trainees also get to interact and network with other developers and domain experts through events organized by m:lab East Africa and the iHub community.

Technologies covered in the training include USSD, android, J2me, php, mysql, LWUIT, Mobile Web, IVR, User Experience Design, SMS, Systems Design. User Experience (UX) Design is also covered in the program.

Business skills covered in the program include customer development, the business model canvas, marketing, operations management, financial management and pitching to investors.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

• be available on a full time basis from 9.30am to 3.30pm for 4 months (between September 3th 2012 and December 31st 2012 for fourth wave of training)
• have a strong academic background. An entrepreneurial instinct is an added advantage

Applicants must consider training considerations before submitting applications by 11:59pm on 12th August 2012.
